We are pleased to have two kickoffs to start this season on September 9th!. Below is the tentative schedule for both events.

  • 9:00: FLL Field Available
  • 9:30: Welcome
  • 9:40 FLL Kickoff Video
  • 10:00: FTC Kickoff Video
  • 10:45: Q & A Session
  • 11:15: Take a look at the field!
  • 12:00: Edmonton Only: Team Canada (FIRST Global) Celebration!

Calgary Maker Faire

FIRST Alberta is excited to be exhibiting at Calgary Maker Faire this year! We have many fun filled challenges including:
– Practice your Robot driving skills, see how fast you can complete our Robot obstacle course.
– Watch as High School teams compete to see who has designed and built the best robot
– Play with Lego Robotics and practice your driving skills
– Learn how to get started with programming a robot

Maker Faire is a two day event (May 13th & May 14th 2023) hosted at the BMO center on Stampede Grounds (BMO Centre, Hall E, Calgary, Alberta). Tickets and details are available on the Maker Faire website.

FIRST Tech Challenge Kickoff

Hello FIRST Community! Please join us as we Kickoff the 2019-20 FIRST Tech Challenge season SKYSTONE!

FIRST® Tech Challenge Championship Results 2018

The third level of FIRST® programs is called the FIRST Tech Challenge(FTC). It is a program for students from grades 7 to 12. It teaches students team work, design, building, and programming in one intense collaboration package.  250+ students gathered for this exciting FTC event at Telus World of Science in Edmonton.

Teams Cyber Eagles from Strathcona Christian Academy, Sherwood Park, Helios from  École Maurice-Lavallée, Edmonton and OLS from Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy, Canmore were the top contenders for that weekend!  Congratulations to this alliance!

 

 

Cyber Eagles were also honored with the FTC Alberta Winning Alliance Captain Award and was the Helios was the Inspire Award winner of the weekend! Special note to the following award winners as well:
