Hello and bonjour teams,
We wanted to provide you with a season update given the ATA strike notice. At this time, we are only cancelling the Nelson Mandela Jumpstart scrimmage but we are monitoring the situation and will adapt as needed. You can expect another update on October 20th.
For those of you who are teachers, please forward this information to your students, mentors and parents. We know many of you may consider allowing your students to take robots home to continue working and if you have the mechanisms in place to allow it, we encourage it.
If your parents or students need a spot to access support, you can encourage them to reach out at firsttechchallenge@firstalberta.ca. You can also have them sign up for updates from us, including access to team training sessions. Anyone can subscribe for FTC Alberta updates here.
Speaking of Team Training! We have 3 sessions coming up:
- October 7th @ 7PM: Strategy presented by our Alumni Coordinator Michelle
- October 15th @ 7PM: CAD presented by Hyper Droid
- November 19th @ 7PM: Statistics presented by Nighthawks Robotics

As an additional note on Scrimmages, please checkout the list of scirmmages and consider signing up! It's a great way to get some extra practice in. If you want to host your own scrimmage, please let us know. These events are made to be informal and is really just a way for your teams to practice with other teams!
